Louis F. Friedman is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law (J.D. with Honors; Order
of the Coif Honorary Society) and received the LLM in Taxation from Georgetown University.  He joined the
firm in 1965 and became a named partner in 1977.  Mr. Friedman was Associate Professor of Taxation at the
University of Baltimore from 1975-1987. He was selected as a Super Lawyer this year by The Baltimore
Magazine in the field of Estate Planning.  Mr. Friedman has a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating of AV
for the highest level of professional excellence.  Practice areas include estate and trust planning, estate and
trust administration, corporate and partnership law, and the law of non-profit foundations.  He was counsel
to Franklin B. Biggs, in U.S. v. Biggs, a landmark case dealing with tax-free exchanges, a major tax payer
victory decided by the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.  He represents both businesses and individuals,
serves on boards of numerous non-profit organizations, and is counsel for Masonic Charities of Maryland,
Inc.  Mr. Friedman is Managing Partner of the firm.

Gary P. Aiken is a graduate of the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, Cornell University's College of
Engineering (Major in Computer Sciences), and the University of Maryland School of Law (J.D. with
Honors; Order of the Coif Honorary Society) where he was an Associate Editor of the Maryland Law
Review. He joined the firm in 1977 and has been a partner since 1984.  Mr. Aiken has a Martindale-Hubbell
Peer Review Rating of AV for the highest level of professional excellence.  Practice areas include estate and
trust planning, real estate law, corporate and partnership law and business acquisitions and dispositions.  He
has handled numerous business transactions including purchases by publicly traded corporations.  
Representative clients include both individuals and businesses in many fields including manufacturing, health
care, technology, and real estate.  He has represented and is an agent for Lawyers Title Insurance Corp.

William S. Davis, Jr. is a graduate of Western Maryland College (B.A., Magna Cum Laude) and
George Washington University School of Law (J.D. with Honors) where he was Managing Editor, Journal of
International Law and Economics.  He was a District Court Commissioner for Prince George's County, MD
(1979-1980).  Mr. Davis joined the firm in 1983 and has been a partner since 1990.  Practice areas include
real estate and business law.  Representative clients include many banks for which he handles real estate
settlements and loan closings.  He is an agent for Lawyers Title Insurance Corp.

Phyllis Cole Friedman is a graduate of Goucher College (B.A. Economics), Tufts University (M.A.),
and the University of Maryland School of Law (J.D. with Honors; Order of the Coif Honorary Society).  She
was Assistant and then Deputy County Solicitor for Baltimore County (1977-1980) and Peoples Council for
Baltimore County (1984-1993).  Mrs. Friedman joined the firm in 1983 after working in the labor department
of Venable Baetjer and Howard.  She has a Martindale- Hubbell Peer Review Rating of AV for the highest
level of professional excellence.  Practice areas include representation of management in employment law,
private foundation law, and employee benefits including retirement plan implementation  and administration.  
She represents businesses and private foundations and retirement plans, and serves as counsel to the
Associated Utility Contractors of Maryland.

Freddie J. Traub is a graduate of the University of Miami (B.B.A. Accounting Cum Laude) and the
University of Baltimore School of Law (J.D. with Honors).  He is a member of the Maryland and District of
Columbia Bar.  Mr. Traub joined the firm in 1991, after clerking through college and law school; and became a
partner in 1998.  Practice areas include estate and trust planning and administration, business law and tax law.  
He represents numerous individuals and businesses.

Matthew N. Davis is a member of the Maryland Bar and also successfully passed the CPA exam. He is a
graduate of the University of Maryland (B.S. Accounting) where he was elected to Beta Alpha Psi
(Accounting Honors Fraternity), and the University of Baltimore School of Law (J.D. with Honors) where he
was a member of the Tax Law Moot Court.  He joined the firm in 1994, became a partner in 2001 and he
practices in the areas of taxation, estates and trusts..

Joshua D. Kades is a graduate of The Ohio State University (B.A. Psychology) and the University of
Akron School of Law (J.D.) where he was a member of the Dean's list.  Mr. Kades is a member of the
Maryland Bar.  He joined  the firm in 2000 and became a partner in 2013. His practice areas include estate and
trust planning and administration and business law.


Charles J. Bishow is a graduate of the University of Delaware (B.A. Criminal Justice; Dean's List) and
the University of Pittsburgh School of Law (J.D.) where he was a recipient of the Dean's Scholarship and
interned with the Community Outreach Partnership Center.  He is a member of the Maryland Bar.  Mr.
Bishow joined the firm in 2004, after clerking during law school; and his practice areas include estate and
trust planning, estate administration and tax law.

Rita G. Browne  is a graduate of the University of Tennessee (B.A. Political Science; Cum Laude)
and  the University of Maryland School of Law (J.D.). She is a member of the Maryland Bar.
Ms. Browne joined the firm in 2014 after working as an Accounting Clerk while completing a second
bachelor's degree at Towson University (B.S. Accounting) where she was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma
(International Honors Society for Business Excellence). Her practice areas include estate and trust planning
and administration,  and tax law.

Joseph A. Tamburo is a graduate of  Towson University  (B.A. Business Administration; Cum Laude)
where he was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma (International Honors Society for Business Excellence) and the
University of Baltimore School of Law (J.D. with Honors)  where he was a member of the Royal
Shannonhouse Honor Society and a staff editor for the University of Baltimore Law Forum. He is a member of
the Maryland Bar. Mr. Tamburo joined the firm in 2016, after clerking during law school. His practice areas
include estate and trust planning, estate administration and tax law.
